Version 1.0. Effective 1 July 2026. Praxis Mutual.
1. General advice only
The information on this site, and any general advice we give you about our cover, is general in nature only. It does not take account of your personal objectives, financial situation or needs. Before deciding whether Praxis medical indemnity is right for you, you should consider the Product Disclosure Statement and Target Market Determination, and consider whether the cover is appropriate to your circumstances. If you need advice tailored to your situation, speak to our team or a licensed adviser.
2. Premium figures are an estimate
Premium figures shown anywhere on this site — including on the pricing page and in any quote you generate — are an estimate to help you understand and compare cover. Your actual premium is confirmed on application, once your scope of practice, billings, hours, state and claims history have been assessed, and after applicable levies, GST and state stamp duty are applied. Eligibility for Commonwealth schemes such as the Premium Support Scheme depends on your circumstances and the current scheme rules.
3. Who our cover is for
Praxis practitioner medical indemnity is designed for Australian-registered medical practitioners— holding current general or specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia — and the practice entities they operate, who need claims-made professional indemnity for their scope of practice with appropriate retroactive cover. It is not designed for non-medical professionals, for allied health, nursing or midwifery practitioners, or for practitioners without Australian registration. Our full Target Market Determination sets out who the product is, and is not, designed for.
4. Where to find our policy documents
Before you take out or renew cover, please read our policy documents. They are available free of charge on this site and from our team on request:
- Product Disclosure Statement— the features, benefits, risks and cost of the cover.
- Target Market Determination— who the product is designed for.
- Financial Services Guide— the services we provide and how we are paid.
- Policy wording— the contract terms, definitions, conditions and exclusions.
5. Complaints
If you have a concern or complaint, please contact us first so we can resolve it through our Internal Dispute Resolution process. If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you can escalate it, free of charge, to an independent external dispute resolution scheme. Full details of how to make a complaint are in your Product Disclosure Statement and Financial Services Guide.
6. Privacy
We handle your personal information, including sensitive health information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles. Our privacy policy explains what we collect, how we use and disclose it, and how to access or correct it.
7. Questions
This notice sits alongside our website terms of use and privacy policy. If anything is unclear, contact our team at hello@praxismutual.au before you make a decision about your cover.
